From A Human's Point of View

Are you looking for a dog to go to the park and play with?

How about a dog to cuddle up with on the floor or on the couch?

Want a dog that makes you laugh by being goofy and adorable?

Are you longing for a sweet face to come home to after work, who will be so excited to see you when you walk through the door?

Need a great running partner?

DKC Gary is all of these things! Out of the 4 foster greyhounds we have had, Gary is by far the funniest and most loving. He is eager to make humans happy and learns from verbal cues and corrections very fast. He has been staying loose for the past month while we are at work (7-8 hours, sometimes a little more) and hasn't had an accident or gotten into anything!

Gary is learning very quickly how to be a house dog, and with a little love and attention from you, he just might be the dog you have been looking for.

I mean, look how stinkin' cute cute he is! And he's the total package not just a pretty face, although his facial expressions are pretty great. Set up a time to meet sweet Gary, I promise you won't be disappointed :)

Love,

Gary's Month of March

I've been in foster for a little over a month now. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but "toot, toot!" because I deserve it! I've learned so much about being a real house dog in just a short amount of time, you wouldn't believe it! Here's a little run down of my awesomeness:

- I am really great about going into my crate. All my foster humans have to do is lead me to my crate and I walk right in. It helps that my crate is full of soft blankets, I like soft blankets :)

- I am an excellent running partner! I stay right beside both of my foster humans while they run.  I don't pull or try to stop or anything that bad running partners do. I love to go running with humans, I think it's fun!

- I LOVE LOVE riding in the car, and I've learned how to be a good car rider. I love to stick my head out the window and feel the wind in my ears. When I'm not sticking my head out the window I lay down like a good boy. Sometimes I also rest my head on my foster human's shoulder while he is driving, just to show how happy I am.

I'm ready to go to the park!

Ahhh, I love the fresh spring air

Is it time to get out of the car already? Please don't make me!

- I am so good about waiting for my breakfast and dinner, you're gonna love this. Whenever my foster humans go to the closet where they keep my food, I get really excited! I stand very patiently and wait while my foster humans prepare my meal, then I run to my crate and wait to be served! I know I can't eat unless I get into my crate, so I don't waste any time. I've also learned to be a gentleman and allow my foster sister to finish her meal without disturbing her.

- I have become an expert at cuddling with humans. Anytime a human comes near me while I am laying down, I make sure I lay across their feet to let them know that I want them to sit down cuddle with me :) It's my special technique I love to have my tummy rubbed and my neck scratched, I could do that for hours.

My foster humans were trying to take some pictures of me by the pretty flowers, but all I wanted to do was be loved on.
Cuddle time is my favorite time of day

Well enough about me, what awesome things do you do? I would love to learn about them! If you give me a forever home I'm sure we would be awesome together!

Until next time,

Gary

Everything Is Awesome!

Hi Again Future Family-

I have been in a foster home for 2 weeks now and let me tell you, the world is awesome! I am having so much fun getting to experience new sights, new smells, new tastes, new activities and it is all my favorite. I am so excited about life! My goal is to experience the most I can in life, and I enjoy every second of it with my tail wagging. My foster human says I am the happiest dog she has ever met. I also LOVE to play. I love to play with toys and with my foster humans. I even try to play with my foster sister dog Tia, but she won't play with me. That's OK though because I still love her and give her kisses anyway because I'm sweet like that :)

I love life and all it has to offer me. Would you be willing to offer me a forever home? I would love you forever and ever and we would have so much fun experiencing life together. Plan a date to meet me soon ok? That would make me so happy!

Until then I'll keep exploring the world from a different point of view,

Gary's 3rd Birthday!

Hello Again Future Forever Family,
As promised, my foster family took me out last Saturday 02/28/2015, also known as my 3rd birthday, and let me stretch my legs! I had a blast running around and fetching the tennis ball. I don't want to brag or anything but there are even some cool HD videos of me running and fetching on YouTube now. Just click the links below and make sure you have the settings wheel on the bottom right on 1080p!

After my exercise I got to ride in the car (which I get in and out of with no problem) with my roommate Tia. We went to the Whole Dog Market to get free birthday ice cream and pick out a birthday treat. I picked out a cow ear and Tia picked out the beef jerky. The store was so colorful and they had toys, treats, and beds everywhere! I was so excited and wanted everything in the place. My favorite part were the stuffed life-size dogs out front that I kept trying to take with me back to the car.

I was all tuckered out after my exciting day and took a little birthday nap to cap it all off.

Can't wait to share some more adventures with you all, if you take me home maybe we can have some adventures together!

Freezing February with Grateful Gary

Hello future family,
My name is Gary and I am turning 3 in two days. My life has been busy albeit short up to this point. I used to race professionally and I even won a couple big races, but now I'm hanging up my bib for the retired life. I met my foster folks at the kennel where they would walk me and the other retirees every once in a while. This week when they came they took me with them instead of putting me back in my kennel. I love being able to stretch out, lay around the house, and just be with people.

It has been really cold and miserably wet outside this week so I haven't gotten to really stretch my legs to their full ability yet. My foster family says that they are going to take me to a place this weekend where I can get up to full speed and have some fun. I'll make sure they film it and put it up on here so you can see me in action.

In the mean time I spend most of my days either resting peacefully in my crate, playing with my squeaky Kong balls that I got in the mail yesterday, or casually strolling around the neighborhood in my warm PJs. My favorite thing to do is to just cuddle up on the floor with a human and get as much love as possible. I am super sweet with their other greyhound too but she can't scratch my neck and belly like they can.

If you want a playful snuggle buddy with lots of personality then we should hang out at your place sometime. You got any treats over there?

Hope to see you soon,
Gary
